QuestionIs dried plaster of Paris washable?Community AnswerIf you accidentally got some on your clothing and you wash your clothing, it will not come out, as it is calcium sulfate. As it dries, it hardens to hold whatever shape it is placed in while wet. The longer the plaster is allowed to dry, the harder it will be to remove. Once dry, it will take additional time, along with an acidic product, to break down the plaster molecules. Thanks!
QuestionWhy doesn't it look smooth?wikiHow ContributorCommunity AnswerThe homemade mold used here does not have smooth sides. The chalk will work just as well. Thanks!

- Candy molds or cookie cutters may also be used to make more interesting shapes.
- Powdered tempera paint makes the most brilliant colors, but you can also use food coloring (liquid or powder) or non-toxic acrylic paints.
- You can make larger batches by just remembering to mix one part water to two parts plaster of Paris.
