• How to get flowers for free to give and to propagate them correctly

Of course, planting colors can be bought. But prices in garden centers now bite, especially for planting material, because they bring it to us from Europe. But we will not sigh sadly, but it is better to find out how to get flowers for free.
And it is actually simple: many of them reproduce by cuttings. They can be asked from neighbors, relatives, acquaintances. Well, then the matter of technology.

    Roses

Cuttings for rooting are better to take half-lignified, that is, no longer soft, but also not “zadubuevshie” finally. And it is better to choose shoots thinner - thicker "trunks" give worse roots.

There should be 3-4 buds on each handle, so if it is broken off is too long, cut off all the excess. The upper cut must be straight and 1 cm above the kidney. The lower cut is oblique, just below the kidney. And the leaves, which usually consist of 5 segments, need to remove the top three.

Well, then everything is simple: the lower end should be powdered with a root formation stimulator (heteroauxin or root) and stuck in the garden, in the shade, in a moist soil with a slope of 45o so that the two lower buds are underground. Then cut the neck of the plastic bottle neck at the very hanger (suitable "poltorashki", but it is better to take a 5-liter capacity) and cover the cutting.

This is the easiest option, but it will be important to ensure that the soil is constantly wet. And what about those who are in the country only on weekends? In this case, before planting the cutting you need to stick ... in the potato. Literally 1 cm. And then, along with a tuber, to plant in the soil. In this case, even if the earth dries up, the rose's escape will not dry up - it will extract moisture from the potato.

    Lilies

They are of different types and each has its own characteristics of reproduction, but take the two most simple ways.

    1. Bulb

This option is suitable for tiger lilies - they have small black peas in the axils of the leaves - these are aerial onions. They usually ripen in August September, after the mother plant has faded. So do not rush to collect them, note where they saw a beautiful lily, then to return. And to understand that they are “ready” is very simple - ripe bulbs are easily separated from the stem.

The collected onions are best planted immediately in open ground. But in the flower garden, and on separate beds to a depth of 2-3 cm at a distance of 5-6 cm from each other. After that, it is good to water and sprinkle with peat or humus. They sprout in the spring. And as soon as sprouts appear, they should be carefully seated in their places in the flower garden. In the same summer, they usually bloom, but it is better not to allow this, to cut the buds so that the plants are stronger. And already from the second year, you can safely admire them!

If for some reason you don’t manage to plant the bulbs immediately in the garden, you can keep them in the fridge until spring, mixed with sawdust or sand.

    2. Leaves

This method is suitable for many types of lilies: tiger, snow-white, Thunberg, regale, Maksimovic, gray-colored and long-flowered.

Here, too, everything is quite simple: from the top of the stem you need to tear off the leaves and plant them in a pot or a box. Previously, it is necessary to pour drainage into it, then the nutrient soil with a layer of 5-6 cm, and on top 3-4 cm of sand. Leaves deepen in the sand to half their length in an inclined position. Then the soil is watered and cover the container with glass or cellophane. Once a day, the leaves need to be aired so that they do not rot. After some time, at the base of the leaves form onions.

For the winter, the pot or box is best prikopat in the garden and sprinkle with a layer of humus 10-15 cm. In spring, young plants can be planted in a flower garden.

    Dahlias

These flowers are, of course, not found in every city in a flower bed, but you can see something interesting from your neighbors. And beg ... the stepson. Yes, yes, they, like tomatoes, have stepchildren who need to be removed from time to time. And so they can be rooted.

Such stepchildren are planted in damp ground in the garden (in the shade) or in a pot, deepening 2 buds. And then covered with a plastic bottle. After 10-12 days the cuttings take root and start growing. And some even bloom by autumn! At the same time, a small nodule grows underground. Autumn must be dug up and stored until spring in the cellar or refrigerator.

By the way, this way you can rejuvenate dahlias that are already growing in your flower garden.

    Coleus and Begonias

They are often planted in Moscow flower beds, and the most different varieties. And to multiply them - you can not imagine.

All that is needed is to break off a piece of the shoot: the tip or the lateral process is not important. And put in a glass of water.Just a few days - and you have a ready sapling. And then do with it what you want - plant in a flower garden or a pot.

If you are planted on the plot, in the end of August - beginning of September, do the same operation: cut the cutting, root and plant in pots. In winter, keep the plants on a light window sill. And closer to spring, they will again spread out and disembark them in the garden.
